With over 25 years of insurance industry experience, Karen Rzeszutko is the President of Roanoke Insurance Group Inc. Since joining Roanoke in 2003, Karen Rzeszutko has served our trade and logistics industry clients in a number of capacities. She began her Roanoke career managing service teams in both surety bonds and marine insurance and, over the years, became an industry leader in transportation and logistics insurance claims and underwriting.

In 2021, Karen was appointed Senior Vice President, CUO Marine. In this position, some of her key responsibilities included managing a profitable book of business across many insurance lines, developing business plans, designing and implementing insurance products, and maintaining excellent client relationships. In 2023, Karen became President of Roanoke where she strives to grow the business and support our clients by maintaining a strong culture of friendly and professional service.

Across her tenure with Roanoke, Karen’s achievements include, managing underwriting and claims teams across various lines of business, creating the operations department for our specialty insurance teams, management and adjustment of complex claims across many insurance lines, development of our international transit liability form, and much more. Karen is also a skilled negotiator with extensive mediation experience, and she has facilitated positive outcomes and loss records for our clients and markets. She has also been a member of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance and on the Alternative Dispute Resolution sub-committee as well as the Insurance Fraud Committee.

Karen is a recognized industry expert and shares her expertise as an author, co-author, seminar panelist and webinar presenter. Her work includes “Inflation and supply chain disruption are impacting marine cargo insurance”, “Demurrage Charges – An Unforeseen Liability”, “The Cost of Getting Paid”, “How to Reduce Risks in a Breakbulk Cargo Venture and “Three Risk Management Methods to Help You Avoid E&O Claims.”
